NOCTURNE was the 4th and final semester project of the Games Academy we had in 2011.
I worked as a concept artist with 10 other peeps on it, creating the styleguide
and guiding the other artists as an art lead.
NOCTURNE is a 2,5D Action Jump‘n‘Run browser game made in Unity 3D.
The story is based on a russian fairy tale called "Stolen Sun" by Kornei Tschukowski.
Our version is quite similar: A dark shadow stole the sun and you as the hero have to bring it back!
This game has 3 levels, so I drew story pictures for each sequence:

CHAPTER 2
CHAPTER 3

Here are some character concepts I made for the hero.
As you can see we first wanted to have a high-tech-ninja-samurai-tron-warrior...
which totally didn't make sense at all, haha!
In the end we agreed on taking the sun fruit farmer and the tribe with glowing skin.
Just a normal man who wants to rescue his people and bring back to holy sun.
The big crocodile who stole the sun has to be defeated in the very end.
